Pritchard Simulation Centre

Overview

The Pritchard Simulation Centre is a partnership between UBC Faculty of Medicine, Interior Health (IH), and UBC Okanagan School of Nursing. The Centre is located in the Clinical Academic Campus at Kelowna General Hospital and officially opened on June 6, 2012.

The centre features two purpose-built simulation rooms, control rooms, and a debriefing room. The centre currently owns four high-fidelity human patient simulators: Laerdal’s SimMan3G and Harvey, the Cardiopulmonary Patient Simulator, CAE Healthcare’s PediaSIM, and Gaumard’s neonate, SuperTory. The Centre also has a portable ultrasound and various task trainers to practice intubation, IOs, and central and femoral line insertions to name a few.

Our Facility

Located on the second floor of the IH/UBC Clinical Academic Campus on Rose Ave., at Kelowna General Hospital, the space contains two simulation rooms, a debrief room, and two observation/control rooms.  There is also access to the UBC Faculty of Medicine, Southern Medical School Clinical Skills Rooms.
