Fraser Health Simulation Program

Overview

The Fraser Health simulation program looks to increase accessibility to simulation education, equipment and resources to support students, employees and physicians. The FH Regional simulation program provides a hub and spoke model of support to 13 acute care and outpatient sites. There are 3 main simulation centres located across the region. Our simulation program provides support from conception to completion on various simulation activities including specialty education sessions, regional education days, mock code sessions, deteriorating patient, skills development and practice, and advanced airway and life support education.

Our program provides simulation education activities to support life-long learning within Fraser Health. We have a robust program with expertise in many areas of healthcare. Our program provides foundational and advanced simulation courses for staff interested in furthering their knowledge in simulation education delivery which includes theory, practice and mentorship support. Our goal is to develop a sustainable program through mentorship and support.

We offer:

  • Curriculum planning, development and support
  • Facilitator training and mentorship
  • Technical and operational support during simulation activities
  • Process Simulation for new builds, protocols or department moves

The FH simulation program is a member of the provincial simulation community of practice who work together to advance ideas in healthcare, simulation and technology.
